Shopping & Things To Do
As a resident of North Providence, most of your shopping needs are met along the main strips of Mineral Spring Avenue, Douglas Avenue, and Route 44 (Smith Street). You’ll find small and large retailers, grocery stores, general stores, gas stations, and more. However, if you do care to drive out a little farther, you have a few options available for shopping malls, including the Providence Place Mall and Lincoln Mall.
For trendy shoppers, North Providence also has a good selection of consignment shops, such as Blackbirds Consignment Shop, Great Finds Yours & Mine, Togs On Brook, and Past Treasures.
An annual parade and 5k road race along Mineral Spring Avenue to celebrate America’s veterans. It’s a fun event to pick a spot and watch the marching bands, classic cars, and vintage military vehicles stroll by.
Another annual event during Halloween at Governor Notte Park. The event has live music, refreshments, and train rides through a maze of spectacular carved Jack-o-lanterns and themed displays.

Peter Randall Park
A small park nestled into a suburban neighborhood just off Smithfield Road and Bicentennial Way. Nice place for an afternoon walk through a wooded area, though the trails are not marked for hikers.
A popular recreation area for kids and families. There is a nice open playground, softball field, walking trails, and a historic cemetery.
Located just outside the North Providence city limits in the Wanskuck neighborhood of Providence. Very popular destinations for dog owners due to the wide-open field and walking trails.
A recently renovated park on the banks of the Wenscott Reservoir. There is a playground for kids, sports fields, tennis courts, campgrounds, and picnic tables for public use. Plus, you can enjoy the small beach area for paddle boarding and swimming.
