Getting Around...

Transportation

I-295: interstate highway runs north to south through the center of Smithfield. Gives residents easy access to Providence via Route 6 or further south to Warwick and T.F. Green Airport. I-295 also connects to Route 146 and further to I-95 N for travel into Boston.

Route 7 (Douglas Pike): middle highway runs east to west into through Smithfield and into North Providence. It’s heavily populated with retail businesses, restaurants, and shopping.

Route 116: runs through several neighborhoods and villages to the center of town in Smithfield. It connects to Route 44 in Greenville, passes over Stillwater reservoir, and circles North Central Airport before crossing into Lincoln and Route 146.

A small regional airport located in Smithfield and Lincoln servicing corporate, recreational, and private flights. It also serves as a reliever airport to T.F. Green airport in Warwick.
